Da Lat Quests

Last updated September 2026

Da Lat runs cold and a little strange, and that's the whole appeal. Pine trees, fog, cafes built into hillsides like the owner just kept adding rooms.

I made this guide in two parts: a fun quest list, and a typical attractions itinerary for those of you who are short on time. Plus a food list.

Short on time

One day in Da Lat

  • 5:00am

    Cloud hunting

Go with a local Airbnb guide. You will hate the alarm and love the view.

  • 7:00am

    Bánh căn breakfast

Sit by the fire, add chả cây and xíu mại, mix every sauce on the table.

  • 9:00am

    Linh Phước Pagoda

Go before the tour vans arrive. Loud, chaotic, covered in broken porcelain.

  • 11:00am

    Crazy House

Yes it's touristy. Take the long looping stairs anyway.

  • 2:00pm

    A cafe with a view

Da Lat does coffee-with-a-view better than anywhere else in the country. Stay until the light turns gold.

  • 6:00pm

    Sunset on a random hill

Bring warm clothes. Wander uphill and follow your gut, not a map pin.

  • 8:00pm

    Night market

Bánh tráng nướng while you walk, then find an acoustic cafe for the rest of the night.

Food to eat

What to eat in Da Lat

Mostly single-dish spots. Google the name, pick whichever has good reviews, go.

Da Lat is its own trip, but most people fly through Saigon to reach it. If you have a morning here first, come walk with me.
